Title VI Indian Education

Title VI Indian Education Formula Grant applied for annually by the LEA and based on eligible student count.

Newkirk Public Schools is in a consortium with five school districts that apply annually for a Title VI Indian Education grant. Osage County Interlocal manages this formula grant program. This program is designed to address the educationally related academic needs of students identified as American Indian and Alaska Native. The school must have a completed U.S. Education Department form 506 on file for each student identified for the Title VI program. Program funds awarded are based on per pupil basis. Monies are used to pay for academic support(s) at the school during the instructional day.
